Because my IGCSE students are younger than the others, I send regular KakaoTalk reminders. A few days ago, one ranked first or second at school and received an A+. That makes me happy as the teacher, but it is also painful that not everyone did equally well. I think day and night about narrowing the gap, but it is not easy. I explain Cambridge Biology and Chemistry on the board, work through all the textbook questions, and set additional questions as homework. Students often do not do it, and I do not scold them. Parents may not like my style because I am not forceful, though perhaps the students do. Recently, however, something has changed: they want to make an effort. I had worried about unfinished homework, but students said they intend to do it and forget, and asked me to send a reminder. So this time I did.
The result was that everyone completed the homework. Progress can happen a little at a time. I hope my effort helps the students I teach do well. — JjangJi Science
