Hello. I have had a little more free time lately and have been spending more time on the blog.

I received another message like this today. IB students have so many tests that I seem to receive messages after each round.
Usually parents message at first and then less often. This time, I think they sent one because it was a midterm test.
Four or five students from just one school received 7s. Apart from students of other nationalities, it almost feels as though everyone who got a 7 there is my student. Haha.
It is about time to begin preparing students for AP and SAT Chemistry. Perfect SAT Chemistry scores have been fairly common among my students, so I expect good results in the coming sitting too. AP is different: the schools here do not generally follow AP, so most of my AP students are studying with me over Skype.
I am having all of them work through past papers.
I think that is the best and fastest approach. Usually, students solve the questions and ask me about anything they do not understand. I often do not take students for these lessons if their foundations are not ready. That is why I made the free lessons on my website. I hope students use them to build their understanding steadily.
When I have time, I also plan to upload free-response explanations for free. They take a tremendous amount of time, though, so I do not know when I will finish them all.

Doing everything alone has been tiring, so I am recruiting another Chemistry teacher.
They need enough English to communicate, a strong command of Chemistry, a solid university education, and a good personality.
I wonder whether I can find someone who meets all of those requirements. Perhaps that is why it has been difficult.
There are various schools offering AP, and some use university textbooks. KMLA is not itself an AP school, but I understand that university textbooks are used in some lessons there. I have a few students from the school, and I remember being surprised to hear that they were using university textbooks in high school.
The IA above belongs to a student in Singapore. I have not revised it yet, but I can already see a few things to fix.
I helped this student so extensively that it was almost as though I wrote it. It was exhausting. We set aside one day and worked on it together.
I did many of the calculations and helped with the analysis. With so little time, we were writing furiously. Trying to finish in a single day nearly drove me mad.
I thought IA season was over, but submission dates differ, so apparently it is not finished for everyone. Several new inquiries have come in, and I think I reviewed four this week alone. Sometimes an idea is so simple, yet I cannot bring myself to tell the student to change it. Many questions concern incorrect significant figures or uncertainty calculations.
