IB Biology:
– Strong conceptual foundations and consistent review are especially important in IB Biology, so most lesson time will be devoted to explaining and organizing concepts.
– Students will complete practice questions and past papers outside lessons. I will check their work and review mistakes.
Lesson information
– Students who cannot attend in person will take lessons online.
– Lessons may be paused or adjusted according to my university timetable.
Tutoring style:
1) I will carefully explain each topic using three main resources: the textbook, slides, and concept-summary notes.
2) Once the concepts are firmly established, we will work through topic questions and check and explain mistakes.
3) After building the concepts and completing past papers across all topics, I will focus on checking and explaining remaining gaps.
4) Regular tests and discussions will provide specific feedback and guide students toward more efficient study.
I will share important tips I learned during my own IB studies to help students work efficiently.
I will be a patient, friendly mentor so students feel comfortable asking about anything they don't understand or feel uncertain about.
Finally, after explaining concepts, I will switch roles with the student: they become the mentor and I become the learner. This teaching method, one of my most valuable study tips, helps students understand the material well enough to explain it themselves.

I applied to and received offers from Monash, UCL, Nottingham, Manchester, HKUST, Sydney, and other universities through their application processes.
I applied for Pharmaceutical Sciences because I want to contribute to developing new drugs to treat diseases that will continue to affect people in the future. To move closer to that goal, I took both school grades and activities seriously and participated actively. I kept up with every assignment and exam through steady review and effort.
Outside academic work, I gained experience through the following activities.
These were the experiences I considered most important when writing my personal statement.
– School Vice President in Grade 11 and continued involvement in the Student Representative Council.
– Medical volunteering in the UK and volunteering at a pharmacy.
– Running after-school science lessons for middle-school students.
What sets my teaching apart: I believe interest in a subject is essential if students are to explore it and study independently. I will therefore create the most suitable learning environment for each student.
Finally, I will pass on important lessons that I only fully understood after completing the DP—not just Biology and Chemistry, but the other subjects too. I want to be a mentor who improves students' efficiency and helps their grades.

How video tutoring works:
1) Platform: Zoom or Google Classroom.
2) Length: at least one hour and at most two hours per lesson.
Example: IB Biology, 90 minutes, using Zoom or Google Classroom.
– One hour: concept explanation using slides and a PDF textbook.
– Thirty minutes: brief topic-question practice and checking. Depending on the topic, explanation and review may take longer.
