Four students I taught took SAT Chemistry in November, and all scored over 780. Even a student I had not expected to reach that level did so, which makes me happy.
One mother sent a thank-you message after the exam. I had taught the student only five or six times over a month, and the score rose by around 60 points. I am pleased, though I feel sorry it was not a perfect score. One student received 790, which was especially frustrating. They answered everything without knowing when to omit a question; under the scoring system at the time, I think a better omission strategy might have produced 800. I am trying to persuade them to retake it, but they say they are satisfied. Most of these students seem happy with their results. Many aim for overseas universities, and I told those without perfect scores that another attempt with an appropriate omission strategy might bring 800. Four more students remain. They have studied with me for six months, solved practically every available practice question, and heard detailed past-paper analysis. They are going into the exam thoroughly prepared and usually miss only around five questions in a set. Three began around the 400s, and the fourth was even weaker. It would be wonderful if all four earned 800.
