So far, I know of two students who have been accepted to KAIST. Congratulations!
Update: the count now appears to be three.
The first two both appear to have IB scores of 45.
I want to give younger students hope, but these older students have such extraordinary profiles that I feel a little hesitant about sharing them, haha.
Student: Teacher, I got into KAIST!
JjangJi: Yes!
JjangJi: Fantastic! Congratulations!
Student: Ahh, thank you!
JjangJi: Great, absolutely great!
Student: It's a conditional offer based on IB, so I still have to do well in the finals, haha.
Student: I'll be seeing you often.
JjangJi: There's a condition?
JjangJi: Anyway, this is such good news.
JjangJi: You'll definitely get in, haha.
JjangJi: So many of my students have gone to KAIST. I'm sure you'll get in.
Student: Oh, really? At our school,
Student: an older student had their admission withdrawn.
JjangJi: Oh wow, that
Student: made me a little scared, haha.
JjangJi: really happens!
JjangJi: I've never seen that myself.
Student: Oh, I see. I'll keep working hard to the end and apply to SNU too, haha.
JjangJi: Anyway, congratulations. Your mum must be thrilled. I'm so happy, haha.
JjangJi: Yes, yes! You really did well.
Student: Haha, thank you so much!
JjangJi: By the way, what is your academic profile? There will be younger students who want to go to KAIST, so I'd like to give them some advice later.
Student: My predicted total is 45, my school grades are almost all 7s, and my SAT is 1550. I've won some maths and science competition awards and done science club and engineering club activities. Oh, and a lot of volunteering.
JjangJi: Ah! That's a seriously strong profile, haha.
Student: Haha, I was still so anxious, though.
JjangJi: That's normal. Stay calm and keep going to the end!
Student: Yes, thank you. :)
Student: Teacher, I have a question…
There is another student, but it's hard to ask for every detail. If I get another chance to ask about their profile, I'll post the specifics. Thank you!
Inquiries keep increasing. They never stop, and I'm so exhausted that I can barely handle consultations. As a result, I have been blocking most people who leave saying they are taking a break. I'm sorry. I need to focus on my students, so I can't give consultations my full attention. Please understand.
Another KAIST student's profile is an IB total of 45 and 11 AP subjects. This is my student who was accepted to Oxford.
The additional student accepted to KAIST also has an IB total of 45 and 11 AP subjects. This is the student who was accepted to Cambridge.
One student who was rejected had 5s in three AP subjects and, I think, an IB total of 42. Unfortunately, that student didn't get in.
Thank you!
