The 2025 IB Chemistry exam seems to have been on the easier side.
Paper 1A had one or two difficult questions, but most of the questions resembled ones that had appeared before.
Paper 1B was also entirely within the range we expected.
In particular, the questions on preparing a solution, absorbance curves, and separation
were all things my students had practiced a week before the exam, so we were lucky.
Paper 2 also had a few difficult subquestions, but many students said it was easy because so much of it resembled previous questions.
It was a little surprising, though, that there were so few questions on the new syllabus content.
We had expected rechargeable batteries, CO₂, and greenhouse gases, but there wasn't much on those topics.
I think there are more messages, but there are so many that I'll stop with these.
The students seem to be saying it was easy.
So it really does seem to have been an easier exam!
Most of the students whose messages I posted above studied Chemistry with me for at least two years, and some for as long as five.
