Practical Advice for an AP Chemistry 5, Including Free Notes

There isn't much time left, so the pressure is building. But many students achieved good results last year and the year before, and I believe this year's students can do well too.

Let me briefly explain how to do well in AP Chemistry. Honestly, the most reliable and important approach is to work through as many past papers as possible. I recommend doing every available MCQ and FRQ paper from 2009 through 2024 at least once. That helps you become familiar with question types and develop a clear feel for the concepts and methods the exam requires.

These notes condense my lessons, though, so they may be difficult to use on your own. It's also important to do plenty of questions by topic. For topic-based questions,

you can use www.jjangji.com to find a variety of good-quality questions.

Do plenty of questions for each topic. Finally, to review the basic concepts and content, I recommend Khan Academy's AP® Chemistry (College Chemistry) lessons. They're free and well organized, so they're useful whenever a concept is unclear. For the basic lessons, Khan Academy alone can cover what you need. Seriously!

Ultimately, past papers—from 2024 back to 2009, which I think are the most important resource—plenty of practice, and a solid grasp of the basics are the keys to exam preparation.

With little time remaining, you may feel rushed. But if you build on your work so far, carefully complete past papers and topic questions, and make good use of the available materials and lessons, I think you can achieve a good result. Keep going, everyone, and prepare as well as you can right to the end.
