A former student recently shared the wonderful news of an acceptance to Gachon University medical school. The student had prepared AP Chemistry, AP Biology, and AP Calculus BC, earning a score of 5 in all three subjects.
This was one part of a much broader academic profile. Medical-school admission depends on the university, admissions category, academic year, school record, tests, interviews, and many other factors, so students should always check the latest official requirements.
Another student contacted me after being accepted into the Pharmacy program at the University of Sydney. The message brought back memories of our chemistry lessons, and I was delighted to hear that the student's hard work had led to such a meaningful result.
A further message came from a student who had completed an interview at Seoul National University and was accepted to the medical school they most wanted to attend. The student thanked our AP Chemistry classes for helping them study consistently.
Many of my younger students complete AP subjects before beginning IB or A Level Chemistry. That early foundation can make advanced study more manageable, but there is no single formula for admission. Consistent learning, careful preparation, and a balanced plan remain essential.
