I haven't posted for a while.
I've had a lot of lessons.
I can barely answer consultation inquiries.
It's really exhausting.
Today I wanted to post because one of my students got into Gachon University Medicine.
Above all, this is a very kind student.
They're also good-looking and, as far as I know, very popular.
They took my jokes in good humor and steadily did whatever work I asked them to do.
From what I've seen, students going into medicine generally had about three AP subjects.
AP Chemistry, AP Biology, and AP Calculus!
I can't post that other student's details here, but I think they had three APs too.
And I believe they had a reasonably high SAT score.
I feel a little uncomfortable asking successful applicants every last detail, so I didn't ask.
But these students told me while we were studying together, which is why I know. I only remember roughly that they did well on the SAT, haha.
This next student was such a mischievous character and someone I really liked. They've now been accepted to pharmacy.
Messages like this bring back so many memories, haha.
I miss them, and I'm so happy things have worked out.
AP Chemistry classes are running again.
Many of my students take IB or A Levels and study AP alongside them. Many former students already have AP Chemistry scores of 5, and younger students are now following the same path.
Medical-school places are increasing, and more students seem interested in medicine.
That means more inquiries too. But there's only one of me, so I often have to turn people away. I feel sorry each time, to the point that I wonder whether I should record video lessons.
Many of my students earned AP Chemistry 5s when they were young. Those younger students are now
coming back to study IB or A Levels. Recently, some preparing for IB already have 5s in three AP subjects. There is so little left to teach them. They seem to know almost everything, so the lessons consist of answering questions about the few things they don't know. I have them solve questions because there's little new material to explain. It feels awkward to do something else, so I just stand there with my hands together, haha.
But they stay near the top of their schools whatever they do, so neither parents nor students seem to complain.
I, however, feel quite awkward.
Seeing students this strong is a little frightening. They'll be competing against other students just like them. It's fierce.
This time, I can see quite a few students with a serious chance of reaching those goals.
The Biology teacher and I have helped many of them steadily build up their AP results.
More students now seem to have a chance at medical school.
I think two went into medicine this year.
In the year after next, I expect there may be many more. A lot of my students already have at least three AP subjects, haha.
I hope they all get into the universities they want and do well. Thank you.
However, I can hardly reply to messages. I only occasionally handle lesson consultations when I have time.
