I have been so busy teaching and reviewing students' applications that I have not posted an acceptance update in a while.
This admissions season, many students came back with exceptional results—including medical-school offers—so I wanted to share a few of them.
Every year people say admissions are getting tougher. Even so, the students who commit to the work find a way through.
This was one of the students I was genuinely fond of—kind, diligent, and consistently sincere. Seeing the result was deeply rewarding.
She earned an extraordinary five offers across medicine and pharmacy, including Inje University College of Medicine, Eulji University College of Medicine, and Sookmyung Women's University College of Pharmacy. In short, she was accepted everywhere she applied.
Eulji University is known for admitting very few students from international schools, so even I was unsure what to expect. Then her message arrived: she had received an initial acceptance offer.
Her academic profile was impressive in every direction. Beyond her university offers, she was also selected for the Overseas Korean Scholarship.
Only 20 recipients were chosen worldwide, including graduate students. She will now attend university with scholarship support. Seeing the photo from the award event made me emotional too.
She said she had achieved everything thanks to me, but the real credit belongs to the work she put into an outstanding personal statement. The result was simply remarkable.
This student sent me the good news first thing on my birthday: an offer from the College of Medicine at Catholic Kwandong University.
I knew how anxiously her mother had been waiting, so I had been nervous as well. The moment I heard, I could not help shouting, ‘Yes!’

Another student shyly told me she had been admitted to Yonsei University's Food & Nutrition program. She was another student I was very fond of.
Thinking about it, the students I became closest to were often those I taught twice a week. Spending that much time together naturally built a stronger bond. I am so glad they were all accepted to the universities they wanted.
